- All races this year will require a leg leash this year , I have been working with Colin Vidler on a comfortable design, they will be available from Spirit Paddle Sports within 2 weeks.
- SLSWA will be providing our water safety this year for all events so we can enjoy ourselves knowing SLSWA will watching out for us.

Ash and Dean have a great relationship with Spirit, going back to the days when Spirit produced arguably the best Avon Descent and SLSA fibre glass surf skis ever seen coming out of WA. Ash won numerous SLSA races on these craft, and both Ash and Dean produced line honours victories in many Avon Descents on the famous Spirit Double Ski – which still holds the Avon Descent race record from 1996.
Spirit Paddle Sports was founded in 1993. Spirit Paddle Sports recently changed hands – James Paine (founder in 1993) our long term mate and supporter of all things surf ski is taking a well earned break. James should be commended on his commitment to the industry. He has always been at the forefront of his chosen career. If life membership could be awarded he would certainly qualify!!
Alan Fernandes is the new General Manager of Spirit Paddle Sports. Alan comes to Spirit with new energy and a wealth of business experience. The Spirit Paddle Sports store in Osborne Park has taken on a very serious look – it is definitely your one stop paddle sports shop!! Alan is accompanied by Lannin French as the Sales and Marketing Manager helping to drive sales and the Spirit brand further into the national and international paddling market places.
